Gunman still at large after two men were shot in Fort Washington neighborhood: police

Prince George’s County police are investigating a double shooting that left two men injured on what should have been a quiet night in a Fort Washington community.

According to police, a 911 call came in around 7:30 p.m. about a shooting in the 1300 block of Potomac Heights Drive.

Two men were found shot and taken to hospital for treatment. Police say both are in stable condition.

Investigators are now searching for the suspect who opened fire near the swimming pool in a residential area on Wednesday evening.

Residents on the block told FOX 5 they heard several gunshots and then sirens.

The police arrived with long guns and tactical equipment and searched the area around the terraced houses and behind the houses, in shrubs, bushes and trees in search of the suspect. But the search was unsuccessful.

Many neighbors told FOX 5 they did not want to speak on camera because the shooting left them shaken and scared, and the situation is only made worse by knowing the shooter is still out there.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Prince George’s County Police immediately.
