The latest On3 rankings bring good news for Alabama football, but no signs of a “Bama Bump”

The latest On3 player rankings for the Class of 2025 included good news for several of Alabama football’s incoming and junior players. The Alabama Crimson Tide have 15 recruits in the On300 rankings, which is more than the Georgia Bulldogs. The Crimson Tide also have nine recruits in the On3 top 100.

Alabama football defended its second place in the On3 Industry Team Rankings. Close behind are other SEC teams: Georgia at No. 3, LSU at No. 5 and Texas A&M at No. 8.

The biggest news was a promotion for offensive lineman Michael Carroll, who ranks 12th On 3which gives him 5-star status. Jackson Lloyd, offensive lineman for the Alabama Crimson Tide, moved up from 29th to 26th. When the full 32, On 3 5-stars will be released later in the cycle, Lloyd’s rank would make him a On 3 5 Stars. 247Sport And ESPNwith much lower ratings for Lloyd, will hopefully change so that he becomes a On3 Industry 5 stars. New cornerback Chuck McDonald also made a big jump up the On3 player rankings, moving up 23 places to 98th.

The Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback has made a huge jump, jumping 43 spots to No. 37 in the On3 rankings. Alabama fans believed Russell had a good chance of reaching 5-star status. Instead, the On3 update has bumped his On3 Industry Rank to No. 43 nationally. Russell’s On3 Industry Rank is dragged down by Rivals having him as No. 47 for 2025. A 43-spot jump is huge, and Russell can continue to rise in the coming months.

The often perceived but never confirmed “Bama Bump” from the Nick Saban years was not seen in the On3 update. Alabama newcomers Duke Johnson and Dijon Lee fell in the On 3 Update. Alabama players Dawson Merritt (from 99th to 125th) and Micah DeBose (from 158th to 245th) suffered major drops in the rankings.

Looking ahead to future updates, the Alabama Crimson Tide are believed to be in a strong position to sign Ty Haywood and Caleb Cunningham. Haywood rose to No. 12, 5-star, as the No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2025 class. Cunningham is the No. 2 wide receiver, 5-star, ranked No. 15. Alabama is also considered a frontrunner for running back AK Dear. The former Ole Miss recruit is currently a 4-star, ranked No. 36 overall, putting him at the top of a 5-star ranking.

Alabama football fans were surprised and disappointed to see no upward trend for Lotzeir Brooks in the latest On2 rankings. The 4-star wide receiver is ranked 100th on On3 and the 14th best wide receiver. Brooks lags behind in the On3 industry rankings because he receives ridiculously low ratings from industry experts. 247Sport And Rivals.
