Paris may have the Louvre and Saudi Arabia has the world’s largest oil reserves, but the richest city in the world is only two hours away from Boise. The town or small city is so isolated that it only holds the title of wealthiest city in the world for a week.

You may be wondering how a city or town can go from insignificance to attracting the world’s elite in a week and then disappear from the scene for another 51 weeks of the year. Does this place, just two hours from Boise, have the world’s largest reserves of potatoes, lithium, natural gas, sugar beets or natural gas?

This Idaho location offers world-class skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and other outdoor activities. There are no known natural resources here that would allow goods to be sold on world markets.

This ideal Idaho city is a land of incredible beauty, history and isolation. It was here that America’s greatest writer, Ernest Hemingway, committed suicide. For over thirteen years, the world’s most gifted and famous citizens have traveled two hours from Boise to live and play in Idaho.

Currently, Allen & Company hosts its annual “Summer Camp for Billionaires,” which attracts everyone who is anyone in the world of money, media, technology, politics, sports, and everything else that matters.

In other words, the most concentrated accumulation of wealth is just two hours from Boise. Participants are so wealthy that their combined wealth exceeds the gross domestic product of most countries.

Will any of these big shots be flying to Boise? The answer to this one little guy is no, as these people will be flying to Hailey Airport in their expensive and luxurious planes.

If you’re heading to Hailey or Ketchum, it’s worth the two-hour drive to see the planes of Buffett, Gates, Zuckerberg and others.

Nearby Friedman Memorial Airport is already experiencing traffic delays ahead of the event, which is set to begin in full force on Wednesday. Incoming flights were experiencing average delays of about 1 hour and 55 minutes on Tuesday afternoon, according to data from flight tracking website FlightAware. Departures from the airport, however, do not appear to be affected.
