Iowa Football brings CJ Bell into Class 25

Iowa football continued to build its 2025 recruiting class this past weekend, hosting a large group of official visitors. New England cornerback CJ Bell announced via social media Monday afternoon that he could join the Hawkeyes.

Bell was the 11th known player to verbally commit to Iowa this cycle, joining fellow weekenders Cameron Herron and Lucas Allgeyer, who announced their commitments on Sunday.

In late May, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound Bell released a list of his favorite schools, which included Iowa, Notre Dame, Penn State, Minnesota, Boston College, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Rutgers and NC State. He officially visited the Hawkeyes and Rutgers before making his decision.

The On3 Industry Rankings show Bell as the 81st best cornerback in the country in 2025 and the 8th overall player in Connecticut for that class. The 247Sports Composite Rankings ranks him as the No. 96 player at his position and 12th in the state for the cycle.

Bell shines during his junior highlight video. His size and long arms help him lock down receivers, as do his smooth hip movements and natural feel for his position.
