Justin Timberlake receives million for 126-acre property in Tennessee

As you sow, so shall you reap for Justin Timberlake. After first hitting the open market nearly a year ago with a $10 million price tag, the Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and actor has now officially sold a sprawling Tennessee property for $8 million – or double what he paid for the vacant property in the affluent Franklin neighborhood nine years ago.

The 43-year-old Memphis native bought the nearly 300-acre property near the historic village of Leiper’s Fork in spring 2015 for $4 million from Aubrey Preston, a local philanthropist and preservationist who sold him a 300-acre portion of his 550-acre property. There’s no word on what Timberlake planned to do with the land, which is protected from development by the Land Trust for Tennessee.

“We both share a love of Tennessee and enjoyed growing up in the country,” said Preston The Tennessean at the time of the sale. “We want to do our part to preserve this for future generations and our children,” he said. “That’s how we met.”

Located on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Williamson County, about 20 miles from Nashville, the scenic ridgetop site consists of 50 acres of open pasture, wildlife feeding areas, a spring-fed fishing pond and wooded trails, all offering expansive views of the surrounding valley. According to the RFP submitted by Tom Sullivan of Covey Rise Properties, there are two entrances, including one that leads across a covered bridge over Dobyns Branch Creek and another for construction crews or horse trailers.

In addition to his recent sale, Timberlake and his wife, actress and producer Jessica Biel, are laying claim to a Hollywood Hills estate that he bought from actress Helen Hunt over two decades ago, subsequently remodeled and recently attempted to sell for $35 million before it was taken off the market. They also own a spacious home in the affluent Yellowstone Club near Big Sky, Montana.

Timberlake, who was recently arrested for drunk driving in the Hamptons, co-owns a bar and restaurant in Nashville and has also purchased hundreds of acres of land northwest of the city, where he plans to open an 18-hole golf course in partnership with a luxury golf company.
